RPG Systems Designer

Creating RPG mechanics that have a low barrier to understand with high complexity for those who look deeper.

Player systems were designed through a number of clean rotational based menuing designed for controller accessibility.

Created move sets for party members and enemies, along with weighted decision making processes for enemy decisions, based on a number of factors.

 

Limiter-Not-Found

General Designer

Created under the time limit of a single week during the Games Now 2023 “Missing” game jam.

Testing both creative ability while keeping scope to the reasonable time limit.

This led to the design of a 3 stage level repeating the level with minor and major changes to the overall level during progression.

Farm Villains

Lead Developer

Farm villains placed the player in the role of a farmer during a famine taking inspiration from various point and click farming games. Notably with heavy inspiration with choices and themes in Paper’s Please and The Westport Independent.

The major switch up with the setting is the slow decline in your crops as not all crop survive the blight, to manage the farm you still need to manage expenses with money. Going to market allowed you to sell to various locals and the larger company.

Each character offers a different amount of money, with the company always offering a higher price than the locals. However if the locals fail to buy food after time they will not survive and with each death the company can offer less and less funds that will slowly drive you to selling the farm to them.

 

Early Design Concept
